Something similar happened to a guy from my area. He went to jail ,lost his wife and kids, got stabbed and assaulted multiple times and whatever else happens in jail then 1 night she got drunk and admitted to her friends that it was all a lie so her friends went and told the cops.

She got a 12 month good behaviour bond.
