basic economics - business as a whole are not sexist they exist to make money. If woman were 20% cheaper to hire than men no smart business would hire men.

to sum up the research in the simplest way - men work more hours than women due to a variety of reasons and as a whole are paid more, on a like for like basis there is no widespread pay gap.
