I’m always optimistic, let’s say everyone do the right thing and no more ugly protesting. If the case numbers starting to head south and the number of cases out in the community while infectious also decreasing. After two weeks, if the cases down to 10’s or 20’s and out and about infectious number down to 5 or zero, then gradual easing of lockdown and restrictions could started to happen ?

Well, they are breaking the law from day one if they don't pay tax. They can't have it both ways. No pun intended.

It would be hard for the authorities to argue that vaccination of inbound travellers is enough to allow them in. Particularly when everywhere you look, the concensus is that vaccination does not prevent transmission of the virus, it merely makes the disease less serious. A vaccinated traveller could be as big a risk of carrying the virus into Australia as an unvaccinated one. And as long as restrictions remain for inbound travel, outbound travel for Aussies will continue to be suppressed.

Based on the above, I think the key to opening borders is the same as the ending of lockdown: vaccination of the majority population of Australia.
That, however, still depends on the outcome of the "experiment" currently being conducted in the UK.

Below is a link to the CDC in the US. This particular brief is about Covid transmission. I won't attempt to summarise (I'm not qualified) but would suggest a good read and see how others might regard the evidence. It's a lot of stuff to read so skipping to the "Conclusions" may help. I don't doubt that our Public Health will be looking at this and other evidence to formulate policy.

Because I like the company of my kids and grandkids, that makes me a hypocrite, you sir are a goose, there is alot of people on this forum with families, my wife passed away a few years ago and this forum is kind of fun for me and I am a bit conservative in my opinions, but don't you judge me.......
