I was thinking the exact same thing on Friday. I was helping a mate do a job out in Penrith and was done quite early so I strolled around to a few massage shops of locanto and wasn’t keen on any I seen , so jumped on E&B . Most of the half decent ones wanted $200 for half hour , then when you enquire services they want $50 for each ( dfk, bbbj etc ) so it would be $300 and over , fuk that . Better to go to ginza .

Never. The entire cost of living crisis is just the norm for many other cities like London.

And it will only get worse. Houses will double every 10 years at a 7-8% annual compound. Food, insurance and every day expense will grow at 4-5% every year. Wages, especially private sector wages will stagnate at 2%. This has been the norm last 10 years.

Run the number forward next 10-15 years and you will see how Sydney will look like.

The wealthy and well to do will be even wealthier as their freestanding home prices rise. The poor class will be absolutely screwed. The middle class will feel much more pressure as the new 200k salary is feels like 100k

Throw in a rapidly aging population and strain on medicare, we will realistically see free healthcare disappear in the next 2 decades. Everyone will be forced to pay for private health insurance like in the US.

You would assume a natural slowdown of some sort in line with what's occuring in our world, but I can't get a feel for how significant it is, if in fact it is happening?
I've had some texts from a couple of shops encouraging me to drop by, plus I haven't noticed a lot of punters in the waiting rooms of the high level shops nor has it seemed overly difficult to book who I want to see when I wanted to...
    Maybe circumstantial.

That said the girls I've seen don't seem to be bored and prices sure haven't dropped.

The light is but a flicker and the costs of living we are experiencing will be the normal going forward. This is a recession in real terms and the COL is the hidden charges kicking in. Fuel, gas and electricity will not come back with the government so firmly invested in taxing and funding them. And I don't think the Libs want the task of fixing the problem even if they knew how. 😡

A private thai WL I saw 6 months ago just messaged me asking how I was doing, times must be tough. Note to self, don't give your number to WL's.

My regular told me recently some girls are charging $70 for a NHJ if booking 45 or 60 mins. I saw someone else say that and because we talk about anything I thought I’d ask. Makes sense from the girls perspective I guess

Money would be tighter for everyone at the moment. I’ve only gone back to the same girl because she gives the right service I’m looking for and I leave happy every time. Shame it can’t happen as often as I’d like but the spread out visits are good so it never goes stale. Just my opinion

Girls might have to start giving better extras like their assholes up in order to meet their bottom line.

Next level service is a true and tested method throughout history in all sectors of the market to ensure customer loyalty and retention

I wonder what they'll do when interest rates go up again.

One popular girl at MAC told me its gone quiet there lately. I guess punters are feeling the costs- I know I am.

From WL’s perspective yes it has slowed down but from my experience, shops are still busy. Like I said a few weeks ago, when I was waiting for a booking, 5 punters entered the shop in a 30 minute period

Let's see if Stage 3 tax cuts have any effect on punting volumes. Maybe the shops can do promotions with that theme.

I still can’t believe n5m offers a discount if you book one day ahead. It was still up on their website yesterday.

This industry is quite different. I guess slowdown in punting has made some girls to increase their rates to cover the loss from less customers?!

    Check Miku at No5.

45 min booking has jumped from 240 to 260.
30 minutes is now 210 and
    1 hour is now 310.

Economists are factoring in a 40% chance of an interest rate hike for next month so there go the tax cuts. And bankruptcies are up 36% from this time last year so unemployment is set to rise. So probably sooner rather than later the higher end shops will start to feel it and the girls may have to start dropping their rates.

Also to try and stem the flow of immigration the govt has double the costs for student visas and banned visa hopping once here so we'll have to see how that affects new talent coming in.

It's not so different at all, we just happen to be on the other side of the fence. We're the consumer, so we can't understand why they would increase their rates in the face of high inflation and fewer punters.

On their side, what's a girl's rate but her wages? When inflation hits, everybody hopes, prays and begs for a pay rise. The only difference is for these girls, their the boss, they can give themselves a raise whenever they want to
by increasing their rate. They're just giving themselves what everyone wants. Whether or not it backfires is another story.

Its only good for us punters if the prices drop as well.

I think the reason we don't see a lot more young Aussie girls coming into the profession is that if rents get to high or they lose their jobs they tend to move back to mum and dad's place or some other family member, so they're not as quick to jump as someone who's here on a visa and don't have family to help them.
