BTW: York was in the decent part of old town, relatively easy to navigate. Deira (airport side), a NIGHTMARE to navigate those old, narrow, TWISTY, one-way streets. Anyone who lived there got taxi fare home.

In the 'oughts, nice mix, majority PRC, then Africans, a number of 'stanis, some Russian/East Europeans. Never cared for the band, but the decor was very attractive...

Was certainly one of the punting Meccas of the world during its golden age.
