It's just that the shop might not want to tell you the reason. So? Maybe the shop doesn't want to admit their own mistake. Maybe they're unsure of how well you'll take the reason; seems some (not saying you (2nd person singular)) might throw a temper tantrum and a hissy fit. It's not like they're saying you have terminal cancer with only a week to live. Not a perfect world. PERSPECTIVE.
I've had bookings screwed up, booking canceled. Just time for Plan B, secondary target. My latest "canceled" booking? Arrived to find the girl busy; would have to wait 30 minutes. I just figured she'd tried to squeeze another booking in. Yea, I looked at my messages: there was my booking request, her confirmation... ... ... for LAST week. I'd forgotten to make the booking for THIS week. Damages? I had to walk into the shop with all her colleagues GRINNING - they knew EXACTLY what had happened. I apologized, she smiled... life's not perfect; I'm certainly not.
Happens once, or OCCASIONALLY, I'd return. No need to cut off your nose to spite your face.
Now, if it happens repeatedly, FFS, learn to read the room.
And the way some people whine, I can certainly see why they are persona non grata.
