When I "loan" money to ANYONE my going in position has always been, I'm never going to see that money again, realise probably a bit cynical but a good way to be sometimes.

Yup, they know exactly who their main customers are, lonely, single guys who struggle to get girls in real life. Just a bit of warmth is enough to open their wallets.
