If I was that American player I would have taken a principled stand and not played. I would have said ***k Trump, ***k you Infantino, you pair of corrupt ****'s. I will not be tarred by your brush. The games's integrity is far more important and bigger than either of you so keep your filthy hands off it. In support of integrity I'm not playing.

It would have been a huge stand against the graft and corruption FIFA stinks of anyway, as does Trump, and that footballing dope would not have taken on their stain like he was an infant with no choice.

You know what I think would have happened if he'd taken that stand? He not only would become immortal and famous by that fact alone, it would have then likely been ascension by universal acclamation as the new FIFA president. Like Ewan McGregor's tilt at the Popehood in Angels and Demons. Instead the soccer dope with all that potential for change, with all that principled power in his hands, what did he do instead? He played a game of soccer. Like he's played hundreds of before. And sinking back into the anonymity he deserves. Talk about 'king wildly assymetric outcomes.

If he'd taken the stand as you said, he risked having Trump do whatever he might concoct out of his sick, demented mind onto him to make his life miserable not to mention his family. Believe it or not that's the type of evil we're dealing with here. We know Trump is well capable of diabolical acts like that. I think the Devil lives in that man.

Argentina showed in their last 2 matches they have huge issues and aren't as solid at the back as everyone was telling them they were. If they perform like that against a France or Spain there won't be any come backs.

However, Argentina has been using punch, pulling shirts, tackle right on the calf, shin and everywhere else which shouldve been yellow or red card that goes unpunished...

If you think that was brutal you should watch the South American qualifiers. It's all brutal and all the teams need some warrior mentality along with class. Paraguay had the former, not the latter, but Argentina are warriors and have both. The problem is they haven't hit their 5th gear and need to wake up fast.

Well what a shitty, boring final. Messi was totally neutralised and Argentina had no shots on target in the first 90 minutes. Well done to their goalkeeper who made 11 saves though and well done Spain, definitely deserved to win. Only ceded one goal in the whole cup.

Spain definitely deserved the win, but for 105 mins they looked like the old Spain we knew from before 2008. All "tiki taka" with no teeth, can't score goals. The worst was when Oyarzabal had the goal wide open just outside the penalty area, didn't shoot and tried to make another pass into the area. Or that unbelievable Merino missed header.

They were very close to having to do it through penalties and their record at that is awful, especially in the WC. 1-4 to the worse, more likely to lose than win. Portugal knew that, so did the Argies, so they tried to push them to penalties. They're like magnets for boring goalless games, Spain, loll
