Under Australian Consumer Law, using AI to enhance or embellish photos ain't illegal per se. But when those enhancements mislead or deceive consumers, that's when things can get legal.
The real estate industry is already facing a shake up of sorts over AI enhanced property photos....housefishing for lack of a better term. At some point cunts may be required to disclose when AI has had a crack at reality.
Now, when it comes to shop and chick photos, things get a little trickier. Privacy laws kick in and everything goes out the window.
So a shop could potentially argue: “For privacy reasons, we can't post photos of our chicks, so we use AI generated images instead, and they are representative of what you may/might/hopefully encounter.”
Fair enough in theory, but what happens when the ads feature absolute glams, you rock up with a raging boner only to find an old Chinese boiler? And that's where the line between privacy protection and outright bait and switch starts getting fucken blurry.
