I might have jumped the gun on this, but I also said the shop can't be blamed on this, during that 20 minutes, the shop might be dealing with other customers or on the phone, so they wouldn't have seen the text, so they would take the unambiguous booking instead of waiting for one yet to be decided. Or they might have forgotten about the previous text which is understandable unless it's a quiet night !
A voice call should have saved more money and frustration !
