I'm not married but I do believe this to be the case. Dudes have higher sexual urges than women and if they aren't met, there will be issues.

Similar to how women have higher emotional needs that need to be met. Issue is that these are often connected to their sexual urges too, so if she finds another guy who can fulfil those emotional needs, chances are he'll also fulfil her sexual needs...
