Maybe I shouldn't be bringing this up here, but why would you double book a girl? What is the rationale for this? Do you want to ensure the girl is booked out so you overbook her, assuming that some punters won't turn up? And if everyone does, then tell them to wait or offer them another girl? Is there a reason you would double book?
All my dealings with your shop have been fine in terms of bookings. I always book and the girl has always been there at my scheduled time. But once I turned up to your sister shop, 5 Marrickville and I was told that the girl I had booked had already gone with another punter. If I was late I would understand, but I was on time. I was told to wait 15 minutes for her to finish. So I assumed that the other bloke had arrived 15 minutes earlier and they just tried to squeeze in another session for her and planned to tell me to wait 15 minutes when I got there.
I was apologised to and told I would receive a "big discount". I didn't bother asking how much because I wasn't concerned about the discount, I was more pissed that I had a booking and it was given to someone else. But I tried to keep calm so I could enjoy my upcoming session. Of course, the 15 minutes ended up being 30 minutes. So I figure what happened was they double booked and just gave my booking to that other guy because he came first. Or he had a 30 minute session and he extended. Or he just showed up and saw her in the line up and chose her and they thought "fuck it, we'll make that other guy wait since he's not even here yet". Or some other reason I haven't thought of yet. I see the other bloke walk out as well to top things off. Nothing gets you going like seeing the guy that just fucked the girl you're about to have a session with.
And when it came time to pay, of course no mention of this "big discount". I didn't bother asking since I didn't know where my discount would be coming from. I hope it wouldn't come out of the girl's pay, so I thought I can do without what I assumed to be a $20 discount.
The session with the girl was fine. No issues there. I've even thought about going to see her again. But the next time I returned to 5 Gerald Marrickville, management tried to fuck me over again. This time it was a smaller issue but it pissed me off so I told myself I wouldn't be returning to that place anytime soon. I considered going back the weekend that just passed to see Hana, but not even the thought of a punt with her could get me to go back to that place.
Excuse my rant, I went off on a tangent there, but you can appreciate why we as punters get pissed off when we turn up and the booking isn't adhered to. I've had plenty of punts cancelled when the girl hasn't shown up or is sick. Sometimes I've been told when I'm already on the road. It's annoying but I know things like this happen. But to purposely overbook a time slot? Why?
I'm a pretty patient guy. Once I booked a girl at another of your sister shops, 385 Rockdale. I was the first punter to see that girl that day. I came early and waited. She ended up being quite late. But the papasan told me that she was running late and said I was free to choose another girl. I decided to wait and keep my booking. I even wrote a review about her. Things like that don't annoy me because it's the industry. The girls aren't always reliable. But management should be. If you're not holding down the fort then the shop goes to shit.
I can empathize with those experience. Sometimes, when you anticipate a punt with a WL or ML you desired for many days, prepare for it, move things around your schedule to a accomodate that, may be even drive a long way like OP, then you get screwed by receptionist or management, it really feck your mood up.
Happened to me couple months back at DOS with recep screwing up with no apology given at the shop. as such wanted to rant at them in forum but thought better and let myself cool off. Think the OP just need to cool down a few days and both parties can then kinda reach a settlement.
We don't purposely double book, there is never a good outcome when double book happens. What happens is only one reception only at a time usually man the bookings, however there are 2 shifts, daytime and nighttime reception, and sometimes there is a communication issue or miswriting on the booking list. Sometimes there are also factors we cant control like girls being late etc. On busy days we usually have around 20-50 phone bookings a day, and many walk in customers, so typos do happen sometimes. 10-20% of the phone bookings usually end up changing their times as well ("Hi ill be half hr late, or hi ill be 20 mins early, oh sorry i couldnt make it please cancel, hi ill bring a friend so please also book this one, etc) while at the same time on rush hours there could be up to 16 customers waiting at the waiting rooms all waiting to be served so things do get hectic a few times a day and however careful we try to make it, sometimes mistakes happen.
Receptions review the booking list periodically to make sure theres no mistakes and whenever they realize oh shit these 2 times contradict. Or sometimes a booking hasnt cum and wanna extend, just half more hr, sometimes it is difficult to say no. Sometimes (actually a lot of times!) girls are unreliable or have some emergency and come later than scheduled, messing up all the back to back bookings. These things happens as it is the nature of the industry. Procedure is to call the customer asap and be honest about it. Not switch n bait, like some other shops do. And offer discounts, $20-$50 usually depending how bad the mistake is. If customers have to wait 1 hr or more due to our mistake of course we offer heaps, we apologise profusely and say look we made a mistake, we cant fix it, however we can exchange $30 in return of them sitting down waiting 1 hour. We offer beer and soft drinks and refreshments. We believe thats fair, I cant say the same with other people but if someone were to offer to pay me $30/hr just to sit down drinking free beer or come back later I would be happy. If its a mere 10-15 minutes wait, of course much less. Or if they would rather choose another girl, we give a small discount too. As you know we only take $30-50 room rent fee per job, After rent electricity bills advertisements and salaries/wages/comissions for receptions managers advertisers drivers cleaners recruiters, net profit is much, much, much, less. Everything else is for the girls. We never cut the girls rate, only shop room rent fee we can cut, and even then the reception would already cop a lot of heat from the bosses. So even a $20 discount already means we do not take any profit at all from that booking. So we believe $20-$50 discount is fair. But yeah, we never ever purposely double book, on the opposite, its one of the scariest thing to happen that every reception fear!

Yep, everybody can make mistake sometimes. If on a busy day, the receptionist might have to tend to other customers straight after taking one booking, intended to put it in the book later and forgot, hence the double booking !
I wouldn’t be happy either, but not angry enough to post on the forum and pursue relentlessly for it !

I know... i had only one job...,., I personally write numbers and time on paper so i don;t forget but i forget eventually when it's heaps busy. maybe that's why i am not the best receptionist ㅎㅎㅎ it's just because my clumsiness and i need to beg to customer until my hands become powder, that's actually what only I can do. please forgive my clumsiness!!! ... but never book double on purpose, because I don't want people blame me.
oh PS we don't manage 485 rockdale since April? May?? please forgive us if it happened before that.

I'm glad to hear that double bookings don't happen on purpose at your shop. But why can't you just tell the punter that wants to extend "she has another booking after you, so you can't extend". What's he going to say? He can't exactly tell you to fuck off and ask the punter to wait 30 minutes for him to extend his time. He already got his go. He can come back another time.
My concern isn't so much the discount offered. Sure if you told most people to sit and wait 1 hour while drinking a beer for $30 most people would take it. Mistakes happen and that's fine. A lot of punters are probably assholes, but it's an industry where there is a reputation for management to lie and bait and switch and do all sorts of other underhanded things. Not saying that you guys do that, but punters are already kind of wary as it is. When a person turns up and makes a booking, only to be told there is an issue with the booking, of course he's going to be upset. In this case, you did call 20 minutes prior and apparently that's the best you could have done in that situation. But many punters turn up and get told at that moment the girl they want is not available and try to get persuaded to see someone else, perhaps for a discount.
It's probably not an easy industry to work in, trying to deal with all the punters and all the girls at the same time. But I have a feeling some places do this shit on purpose and they just don't give a fuck because they're so busy that it doesn't matter if they lose some punters in the process. Whatever works for them though right.
For sure, everyone makes mistakes. As long as it's genuine and they are sincere in their apology I think everyone should just let it go. Heck I let a shop screwed up my booking more three times before and didn't really bother cuz they seem sincere. After that I decide to go to another shop cuz it's just incompetence and became annoying as shit.

Yes usually we politely ask the next person if he can wait, if he say no, then yes we tell the person sorry cannot extend.
We dont purposefully double book, like if we do we wouldnt even bother calling him 20 mins prior or writing down his number. An honest mistake thats all.. Not on purpose and on the opposite thats always receptions biggest nightmare
I didn't know Rockdale isn't part of your shops anymore. I've never had any booking issues at Gladesville. I've only had one booking issue with Rockdale and that was because the girl turned up late. I didn't care because I still got the slot. What happened was she was so late that the guy after me had already turned up. And I had a 1 hour booking. So I can't remember how late it was but it must have been pretty late. The papasan offered me to choose someone else and I said I would wait, but when I found out the guy after me had a booking, I asked what would happen to his booking. The papasan said he chose someone else already. So things worked out there.in this case i have nothing to say because i do that sometimes

I had an issue with Marrickville when I turned up. I made a booking and turned up on time but the girl I wanted to see was already in a session with someone else. I was asked to wait 15 minutes. I said that I had to get to work, but I thought 15 minutes would be ok. Of course 15 actually became 30 minutes. I ended up being on time for work, but didn't get why I wasn't just told it would be 30 minutes so I could make a proper decision as to wait, leave, or choose someone else. You think the last thing you would want to do to a punter who you screwed up their booking was to lie to them. As if you don't know how long the previous punter is going to be.
I wasn't going to return to Marrickville after that but decided to give it another go. I came back once after that and management tried to overcharge me. I kept my cool and corrected her on the price and she apologized pretending she made a mistake. She literally said to me "$230" when she asked me to pay. But when I gave me $250 she was about to walk off without my change then when I asked about it she pretended that she thought it was $250 and gave me my change. This is when literally a few seconds ago she had told me "$230" and on top of that, no girl at Marrickville at the time was $250 an hour. The highest rate was $230 at the time.
After that I haven't returned because fuck that. My money is just as good elsewhere.
I don't know what you look like so I have no idea if this was you or not. Also I've forgotten who screwed up my booking the time before that, but it might have been the same girl.
