Yes usually we politely ask the next person if he can wait, if he say no, then yes we tell the person sorry cannot extend.
We dont purposefully double book, like if we do we wouldnt even bother calling him 20 mins prior or writing down his number. An honest mistake thats all.. Not on purpose and on the opposite thats always receptions biggest nightmare
