Yes, same characters, but sometimes the meaning is totally different, especially HongKong people write in their local dialect full of jargons, it makes no sense to other Chinese from other parts of China, let alone Google Translator !

Even the Japanese Hanzi characters are actually ancient Chinese, and some Korean characters too, exactly the same writing, but even the Chinese can't make out what they mean !
