I actually grew up on an outback station and at the age of 15 started working around the various stations in the district doing various jobs varying from electrical to plumbing to shearing or whatever was available.
It was interesting because I was actually meeting my fellow students from "school of the air" and exploring not only the district where I grew up but many surrounding areas.
In my travel some of these students where girls who I had met previously and in a few previous get togethers as we were growing up a lot of exploratory friendships where going on.
We all were exploring sex and in most cases I moved on and never returned. Eventually when I was 21 I moved to the big smoke (Brisbane) and worked in sales in the city. When I wanted to apply for a passport I first had to obtain a copy of my birth certificate and thats when I found out I was adopted and the named father was not the one I thought was my father. Let me explain,... it turned out my mother did not marry my biological father and the guy who she was living with was his cousin... yeah weird shit going on and eventually I changed my name to match my real father's and have used that for many many years.
I never returned to bush and basically forgot about it all and when I travelled eventually to japan fell in love with the place and stayed there.
It was only during my current trip that I started thinking about my old family and started researching my family and old acquaintances. Well it seems that all those years ago the girls who I had been screwing around with, well around 75% had children around 9 months after I left....
Should I consider them "office colleagues" ??
Thankfully I had changed my name, but I do wonder how many of those kids might be mine ??
(and I really do not want to know).
