Decriminalization changes the regulators of sex work and the role of police Previous regulators, the Prostitution Enforcement
Taskforce (PETF) in the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Prostitution Licensing Authority (PLA)

The original text of the new legislation can be found easily - for those who know how to spell and do an internet search, that is.
It's a fairly long text, and even if I wanted, I couldn't read it for those who are either too lazy or lack the ability to comprehend somewhat complex text.

The key points are:
- Businesses offering sexual services no longer need to be licenced;
- individuals offering sexual services for money no longer need to work in solitude;
- local governments are not permitted to make local laws that prohibit or regulate sex work or the conduct of sex work businesses.

The logical consequence of that is that massage shops (or hairdressers, barbers, bakers, tax accountants etc) are allowed to extend and diversify their services.....

My comments are really around the State Government emancipating the Queensland Police Service from being moral crusaders on this issue.

I was pointing out that Local Government via town planning laws tries to regulate land use. People may not like these activities near them and complain. After which they do enforcement (Local Government in particular operates this way, however the State Government is really no better). At a guess they have limited money for enforcement but lots for creating regulation.

Yes thank you for your feedback it is very confusing but the way my solicitor expanded it was that we are not a btothel we are a massage shop , if girls get caught doing that stuff they won’t be charged but the shop will be closed as you cannot do that near schools cafes etc , in a commercial venue.

The shop owner would get a fine still as it is not a legal brothel.

So we don’t do that here 😂

If anyone else hears different please let me know.

The law is to allow prostitution to be seen as a legal entity job and to be able to seen to banks etc as paid employment without discrimination for what they do.

It doesn’t mean we can just open a shop and have ladies doing sex .

Yes it is decriminalised but there are still council by laws and state government laws that determine where this active can take place .
