Does a 14 year old really understand the consequences of their actions (for themselves and others), think they're going to get caught, easily resist the influence of their peers or 'influencers', or know how to control their impulses? Probably not. Does an 18 or 19 year old? Pretty much equally probably not. Does someone substantially older (like me)? We should, but also quite likely not.
Does a 14 year old understand the rape is morally and legally wrong, that it's a serious crime, that the justice system in Australia works such that crimes are punished, that an act like this deprived the girl of her freedom, safety, dignity and choice? They SHOULD understand that, and in my opinion they should be punished accordingly for a crime like this (if found guilty). Luckily I'm not in charge of their defense, prosecution or possible sentencing (and yes - give kids the vote. Make them - and adults, most of whom don't know how the fuck our political system works - study the Australian political system, pass a test, and let them vote from age 14 or whatever other arbitrary age below 18 we collectively decide to set for the right to vote and the age of criminal responsibility).
But what the fuck do I know anyway? I'm not a lawyer, a lawmaker, or a child psychologist. I'm just some fuckwit on an internet forum about PAYING WOMEN FOR SEX. All of us are, but we think our 2 cents on these things are worth shit??
Haha, took me long enough to figure it out, Linq wasn't trying to prove anything, he's not sane enough for that (but he still outsmarted me since I engaged and spent time thinking about and typing out this bullshit instead of thinking and typing about paying women for sex), he just wanted to stir shit. Mission success Linq.
