But you have to know. Sometimes stat have strange power of affecting a bet which should looks like a surefire. Example? Barcelona - Chelsea at Nou Camp. :smile:

One more point to add, sometimes, just sometimes. A choice that looks like very obvious, might go the other way.

I never liked soccer because of it's unpredictable nature, basketball on the other hand is constantly fighting an average which is very easy to track. There are only two sports that I prefer to bet on and it's NBA & NFL, both have a steady amount of games and they both have very interesting playoffs. I prefer to concentrate on NBA as like I said before, it's much easier to predict than what the quarterback is about to do with an oddly shaped long ball. Most professional gamblers I know all bet on NBA and NFL but they also are very good at picking the ponies. All I can say is if you make more than double what you bet and you win only half the time you are ahead with all things being equal of course. I won't say anymore as I don't want to end up like my friend Ranogajec.

We use something similar to box trifecta for horse racing. We select say 8 bets and box it, the more you get right the more you win. Get familiar with the different bet types that is available to most UK betting sites like www.bet365.com. I got confused in the beginning too!

It works like this:

Say you pick 4 NRL matches:

Broncos to win
Storms to win
Manly to win
and Sharks to win

You have 4 single bets there.

For doubles, there will be 6:

1-2
1-3
1-4
2-3
2-4
3-4

For trebles, there will be 4:
1,2,3
1,2,4
1,3,4
2,3,4

And there will be only 1 x 4 folds
when all four teams has to win.

This is the simplest,

When you have more matches/races like 7 or 8 = a lot more combinations, if you are just starting out, just stick to something simple.

You should have used a Heinz bet, you would have won. Think of it as paying a bit of a premium for insurance, even if you get some wrong you still walk away with a profit.

Yes TAB is very slow compare with bet365 of price changes
Make sure you have a lump sum and hit them hard.

I checked the odd on ifone. And just walk in to the machine for a quick $100 bet.

Its around $3.40-$3.90 i reckon. Although the 3.90 is the raw deal. These guys arent stupid, they all have some sort of maths shit behind all this.

But my logic is that the swing of the team can sorta show it. Like this morning where first two quarter boston went mad and put up 32/24 or something on ATL, but then, u have to be careful with the last quarter, if the score is close, chances are they will get close to the over than under.

If it has been a blowout or high margin they will slow down. As per the case this morning. Bos rested all 5 startedrs with something like 8-9 mins left.

Remember that MIA game where it was record low? I was on my way to a complete disaster but saw the odd for line/over under i couldnt believe it. Was something like -2.5/over 47-48 points.

I think it's gonna be a Draw, but I won't rule out the chance Cardiff winning. I think it's better to take Cardiff 0.5&1 @ 2.15. The odd is quite good.

Well, I think with 2-0 lead for the second leg, West Ham might play a bit defensively. It's a significant lead. And cardiff's form is quite good too. They won the last 3 games away from home.

SAS will do enough to win, they won't try to injure themselves going for a crazy lead. We have all seen what can happen if they don't give it their all, look at MIA for example where NYK came from behind and win by 2. The handicap of -7.5 is what I'm most worried about but from what I've seen so far it looks like the Jazz just want to pack up and go home. The game total has moved to 199 where it used to be 210 a couple of weeks ago so there is a slight chance that it could go over if both teams play hard.

Only horse I knew is no.2 Scenic Blast and it is 18-1, look at the monitor and the tips are 15, 11, 6, 2 and the late mail is no. 7 Spirit of Boom at 14-1 but never heard of the jockey.

So just put $30 to box the 5 horses @50%.

Well, it's a weekend of upsets, Broncos, Storms, Sydney Swan all got beaten but it's good to see some of the underdogs got up for a win, like the GWS beat the Gold Coast Sun and won their first ever AFL game and the Titans beat the Dogs.

But funny how things turned out, Broncos lost by 2 becasue Cory Parker didn't kick any goal (0 from 4 !!............WTF) and the Storms also lost by 2 and Cameron Smith missed a conversion.........And the Sharks did it without their best player and Captain Paul Gallen, so I think Shark is the real deal this season, Todd Carney is back to his best form = when he won the Dally M and took the Roosters all the way to the Grand Final and he they stay healthy, won't be surprise if the Sharks can finally win a title, won't that be great!!

Signs are not good for the Queensland Maroons, as both Brisbanse and Melbourne got beaten, between them, they have 8 origin players so can't wait to see game one in Melbourne!!

Say Spurs to win is paying 1.09, to me it's another 9% return on my investment so I just multi it with other bets. This is what professional gamblers do to beat the house and take back the commission. There is a lot of tips and tricks out there so just have an open mind.

To stay on topic I sometimes bet a week in advance just to get good odds, there is no right or wrong in gambling. Just winning and losing.

The only match for them is OKC.

BOS is not as defensive when playing away and I know PHI are good from the range. Tempo should be high as well since PHI is playing at home and they obviously want to put on a show, I just don't think they can overcome the star power of BOS this time. I'm sure the coach has had a few harsh words with some of the guys that they must pass the ball more so BOS looks good.

They don't have good low-post scorer anymore. Indiana can defend very well. Their offense is pretty effective too.

Speaking of heavy weight jockey, none better than Wayne Harris when he won the Melbourne Cup on Jeune for David Hayes in 1994, it was more than 10-1 I think and I have $40 each way on him, Paris Lane the hot favourite second, Ompala (Newcastle Cup winner) at 30-1? third, I think the trifecta paid $4,000+ but I didn't get it.

However, I did win pretty well on Jeune's son in the 2005 Melbourne Cup when Makybe Diva won her third Cup, On a Jeune at 70-1 was second and the NZ horse Xcellent third, the trifecta was like $7,000+ I took Makybe Diva and the field and the field, just 12% but I got back $900 something, and a bet of $200 win as well, so I had a very good Cup week.
