IME, holding a grudge does more damage to you than to the other party. Just make your case and move on. And by "case", I mean that literally. Hope you have a signed (better witnessed) IOU, even better a signed and witnessed Loan Agreement (easy to find those for free on the internet). Then you've got a paper trail for court. Otherwise, you say "loan", she says "gift". Someone doesn't want to sign a loan agreement, well then, maybe it's not REALLY a loan... And then ask yourself what assets does she have that can be recovered... Pyrrhic victory?

And it's not like you've lost a kidney... money... it's not irreplaceable. Methinks your ego is more bruised than your wallet...
