Sorry to hear, many years ago (Before foxtel) I was at Rosehill and backed a horse in Newcastle. It came 2nd, so i threw the ticket away at the track. The next day, i was reading the paper and saw the horse won - after looking around, i discovered the "winner" was disqualified so my horse won. I rang the racetrack who put me in touch with the Bookmakers Association.
