Everest: Redzel will give them something to catch!
rooter
13-09-2017, 02:49 PM
The Everest is bullshit.
It has about as much sporting validity as the Mayweather v McGregor fight, or a dog fight, or a cock fight, or a My Kitchen Rules cook off, or a The Bachelor bitch fight.
It's not sport, it's a freak show, a circus act, a Kardashian extravaganza.
It's the "if we throw enough money gained from extractive industries, arms dealing, drug dealing, property speculation, organised crime, casinos, etc into it, then it must be important" attitude.
Anyway She Will Reign will win it, it's a sure thing.
We all love a bet ;)
Enjoy!

Yeah, in an MMA fight McGregor would just take him to the ground and just pound or submit him.
But Mayweather would never agree to an MMA fight with McGregor - he is not stupid.
Watch the Couture v Toney fight to see what happens when a boxer takes on an MMA fighter.
Yeah I remember it , Toney got choked and didn't know how to get out of it. That's why the guy with home court advantage is always gonna win

I think it's more of Mayweather dragging him into later rounds. Fans would not be pleased if it ended in three. Mayweather hardly threw a punch in the first three rounds.
The whole thing was all a spectacle to begin with so everyone could make a shitload of money. Mayweather wasn't himself at all in the first three. The whole thing was like a WWE fight. But credit to Conor in the first few rounds he was a tough competitor regardless . The guy with home court advantage in these kind of things usually wins. Only person who could do well in a boxing bout would be someone like Mark Hunt who could straight KO the guy

The Broncos were very brave last night and losing three players along the way so the efforts were huge.
Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park is a very different story though. Especially after the scare from the Eels on week one, the Storm is not going to slip . But then again stranger things had happened in this final series, no one had given the Cowboy any chance last week either.

We loss 3-2 to Belgium in the end so no final Davis Cup final glory.
"Despite the disappointing result, Nick Kyrgios's conviction in Belgium couldn't be questioned." according to ABC Sports headlines.
And I tend to agree, there was no million dollar pay cheque at the end but the honour and duty to play for your county and Nick fought all the way to the end , I only watched three sets and thought he was gone so didn't get to see the 4th set when he finally broke back and levelled the set 4 all only to lose his own serve next and the set and the match .
Winning the first set was a huge effort but losing the opening service game in the 2nd set handed back the momentum and he never recovered. The opponent is ranked 12th in the world , probably even higher on clay, so no disgrace there. But in this match we see lots of fight and perhaps the real future of Australian tennis, get a good coach and stay close to Hewitt please Nick!
Hope to see more of this morning's Nick in years to come !
You're doing well Mate !

Talking about ultimate personal redemption in Sports! If Ben Hunt could take the Broncos to the Grand Final and win it - no one would remember that drop ball from kick off which gifted the Cowboys field position and that famous JT field goal in 2015!

With the handicap rules changed for the Caulfield Cup winner - not receiving any further penalty for the Melbourne Cup after winning (for all those horses on 56 kg or higher ) - we may see a lot more Cup horses going for the double !
Lloyd Williams usually only goes after the big one and by pass the Caulfield in fear of attracting more weights - now we could see him sending his Cup runners to Caulfield as well.
Almandin could win in Caulfield before defending the Cup in Flemington!

... a draw ...
It's paying around $20-$24 depending on the betting agency.
A bit of a long shot, but could happen.
Maybe just put a lazy $20 on it.
Or if you want more of a sure thing then a tri-bet (either team under 6.5 points) is paying around $3.50.
I've got a feeling it's gonna be a close one.
Storm are the better team but the Cowboys have got heart galore.

It's gonna be a tense game.
On paper we are a better team than Syria but were a much better team than Thailand to and we only scraped a draw away and a close win at home.
BTW Timmy was in the starting 11 against Thailand in Melbourne.
Unfortunately he hit the post at the 4th minute.
We need to improve on recent performances; we need to put away our chances and we need to tighten up in defence.
I don't think Ange is the man for the job but we are stuck with him now.
Super coach Carlo Ancelotti just got sacked by Bayern Munich so maybe billionaire Frank Lowy can fork out a few $Million to bring him down here. ;)

Yeah Juric hit the post twice against Syria.
And we hit the post 2 or 3 times against Thailand.
We have been unlucky.
But we were also lucky not to cop more goals against Syria.
They really had us under the pump in the second half.
We should be OK at home against Syria.
Then we have to face probably Panama.

It was meant to be an easy pick for Bonneval if she would have won the Caulfield Stakes last week. Then you just throw in her stablemate Jon Snow, the two Weir horses and the two Hayes imports for the minor placings.
But something had gone wrong with her and now even she was pass fit to race, I just lost some confidence.
And from what I saw on Johannes Vermeer, he was closing in real fast at the end of the 2,000 metres and looked like a good thing !
So here's my Trifecta bet:
1st : 3, 11
2nd : 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 15, 16
3rd: the field
$180 for the one unit
Or you can box the 7 horses for $210
Good luck everyone

Humidor is on a very similar form line to a previous Cup winner in Fiorente. Although he has no 2400 winning form , he wasn't far away from the Caulfield Cup and did run second to Jameka in the BMW in Sydney - basically , if he stays the two miles - he should win - and the breeding ticks all the boxes too , his grandsire Galileo is very successful in producing group 1 stayers. He is out of a Zabeel mare and has 4 crosses from Northern Dancer . You couldn't find a better bred stayers !
So brother Rooter, I agree, bet up on Humidor ! But I wonder if Weir will keep Blake Shinn on ? He already won one on Viewed for Bart Cummings !

Can the Haynes , Cummings, Weir and Waller collectively defend the Cup from going overseas again ?

Us punters are all total misogynist losers and we actually like it when a ML or WL sounds dumb; we think it's so cute.
It makes us feel so intelligent and special and superior.
Babycat, never, ever, never appear more intelligent or better informed than your dumb punters, it makes us feel very insecure, and threatened; our fragile male egos can't handle it.
If a punter asks you about the Melbourne Cup just say something like "I'm so dumb, I'm just a girl, I know nothing about horse racing or anything else. Have you got a tip, stallion?" ;).

The field of the Cup is not finalised yet but you certainly are welcome to learn a few things to enrich your conversation with clients if the topic comes up:
10 things about the Melbourne Cup if Babycats knows should earn her plenty of respects :
1. The only horse to have won the Cup three times was a mare/female horse called Makybe Diva.
Her name was made up from the five female staff of the horse owner.
2. The first and only female jockey to have won the Cup was Michelle Payne two years ago on Prince of Penzance, trained by Darren Weir and at the odds of 100-1
3. The last horse to win the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup double was also a mare called Ethereal from New Zealand
4. Cup King Bart Cummings had trained 12 Melbourne Cup winners, his first winner was called Light Finger and his 12th was called Viewed.
5. Last year's winner was Almandin . He was owned by Lloyd Williams who had won the Cup 5 times and Almandin is also running this year. BTW, Almandin's rider was Kerrin Mcevoy who is Michelle Payne's brother in law .
6. The First Lady Trainer of a Melbourne Cup winner was Sheila Laxton from New Zealand who trained the above mentioned Ethereal. The first Aussie lady trainer to win a Melbourne Cup was Gai Waterhouse who is the daughter of legendary trainer Tommy Smith. She trained Fiorente to win a few years ago.
7. The first ever horse to win the Cup was called Archer. And he came back the next year to win it again !
8. The first ever overseas trained horse to win the Melbourne Cup was called Vintage Crop trained by Dermot Weld an Irish trainer . He won it again with a horse called Media Puzzle.
9. Media Puzzle was ridden by champion jockey Damien Oliver whose Brother Jason was also a jockey who died from a race fall the week before in Perth. When Damien won the race and past the winning post, he looked up to the sky as if saying: this one is for you brother ! One of the most memorable moment in Melbourne Cup history !
10. Phar Lap, Australia's most famous race horse , of course also won the Cup. But the other King of the Australian turf Kingston Town didn't, came second in 1982 from a poor ride - but his very unlucky owner David Haines got lucky when his horse Kingston Rule trained by Bart Cummings won in 1990! 8 years after the failure of the King, became Bart's winner No 8 and from memory Kingston Rule was no 8 in the race ! Talking about destiny and lucky no 8!
My 10 cents.

I also won on Shoal yesterday, in fact I backed three winners (Levendi and Ace High as well) but ended up only about break even !
I have some each ways bets on the first and second horses out of the Caulfield Cup though.
But can Amelie Star beat Humidor and Big Duke over two miles ?
Very open race this year and I think Humidor could nearly be a good thing @$9.50/$3.50 - or at least an each way special :
The Cox Plate is now replacing the Caulfield Cup as best guide to the Cup - apart from the overseas horses:
Makybe Diva won the Cox Plate before winning her third, So you Think won it then ran second in the Cup, Green Moon ran poorly in the Plate but won at Flemington.
Fiorente ran a great second in the Cox Plate and won the Cup next up, Criterion beaten 4 lengths by Winx and ran third to Michelle Payne and last year, Hartnell was beaten 8 lengths by Winx and still ran third in the Cup and Humidor nearly......

I don't like the favourite Almandi.
Horses very rarely win back to back Cups, and Frankie Dettori's form at the Cup is terrible.
The next four favourites all look good Humidor, Johannes Vermeer, Marmelo, and Wall of Fire.
I can't see anyone other horse winning it.
Best long shot: Big Duke.

The Melbourne Cup is a notoriously hard race to pick a winner in.
Factors that make it hard to pick a winner are:
It's over 3200 metres and very few races are run over this distance so it's hard to know if horses will stay the distance.
With the international horses, we know little about how they will race in Australia and adapt to our conditions.
There are 24 horses running which is a huge field.
The barrier a horse draws is important with such a huge field of horses.
Most of the horses have excellent credentials; that's why they are here. So there are very few horses you can totally write off.
Anyway good luck punters!

2, 3, 5, 7, 13 & 20 . It's only $120 for the box Trifecta ! Add another $180 for a 50% First 4!

OK, it's Melbourne Cup time, here is my tip for the Trifecta this year:
Boxed 8 horses will cost you $336.00 or $168.00 for half unit, good luck everyone, may we all win something tomorrow:
2. Almandin, last year's winner, hard to win again with more weights but it's a proven winner so must include.
3. Humidor, unmissable Cox Plate form and should be an each way certainty. people keep questioning if he can stay the 2 miles, but he is by the Galileo line out of a Zabeel mare, if that breeding can't stay, I don't know what can ?
5. Marmelo, best credential overseas horse with a good run in the Caulfield Cup, a proven forumla.
6. Red Cardinal, drawn the car park but has Kerrin McEvoy, 2 miles specialist
7. Johannes Vermeer, not tested in 2 miles but Williams won't bring him here if he doesn't think he can stay, they certainly know this better. two runs in Caulfield is the best guide.
20. Wall of Fire, second in the Herbert Power and drop 5 kg for this, that Herbert Power could be the best staying form this Spring, think Protectionist a few years back.
22. Rekindling, tipped by Hayley Moore so he is good enough for me.
23. Amelie's Star, forgive the Caulfield Cup run and her previous win in the Bart Cummings (2500M) has Almandin 2016 written all over it. Same as Humirdor - also by a Zabeel mare and brother Travelmate tipped her so I have to include.
For those of you who like to include some more outsiders, you can bet it this way:
Take 3. Humidor, 5. Marmelo and 20. Wall of Fire as rolling bankers and take the following horses as a standout Trifecta:
So you mark your ticket this way:
1st: 3, 5, 20
2nd: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23
3rd: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23
One unit is also around $330.00
But if you are betting this way, it is advisable to do a rolling bankers and bet the 3, 5, 20 as first for 50% ($165.00) and then 3, 5, 20 as second for 25% ($82.5) and again 3, 5, 20 as third for 25%.
This way, all you need is for at least of one 3, 5 and 20 to run into a placing and you should have a good win. and if they run the trifecta then you win on all three tickets.
Good luck to you all.
Cheers

I haven't been betting on the horses for a few years but used to frame my own markets and back my top rating horses that were paying overs. Amelie's Star looks to me like a real value bet. It was ridden 'upside down' last start and didn't have it's customary dash at the end of the race. Its got a very under-rated jockey with no weight. Should get a good run with cover.

Ah, so complicated. I remember at KC on Melbourne Cup they sell $2 tickets and I spent $10 on five random numbers. Of course I got nothing, :)
Hi Baby, what you did at KC is called a sweeps of the Cup, it's a great Aussie office tradition and the beauty is, some one from the office will be guaranteed winners and no money lost to the TAB.
The sweeps usually will have 24 tickets, each can be sold from $1.00 to $10 or more depending on the size of the office and how much people in general are willing to pay.
Say it's a $2.00 sweep, so the total prize pool would be $48.00 ($2 x 24 horses), the person who got the first horse would probably get $22, 2nd $12, 3rd $7.00 , 4th $5.00and the last horse $2.00 money back . It's good clean fun.
But there are organizations who runs very expensive sweeps, like in a football club, they could be selling thousands of tickets at $100 each , then they draw the lucky 24 tickets where the ticket holder can draw a horse from the sweeps. The winning prize could be something big !
Many years ago I knew someone who is a Essendon Bombers supporter and from the footy club sweeps he won a brand new Porsche when Kiwi won the Melbourne Cup - true story.

What the Flexi means is that if you don't want to bet the full amount, you could do a 50% at $168 or simply put in the amount you want to bet like $50, $100 etc and the computer will calculate the winning percentage for you.

Are you asking about Hartnell, Almandin and Humidor ?
Well, they are probably the best three horses over a distant in Australia at the moment outside of Winx of course, but Winx is not running here.
Hartnell is now trained by James Cummings and I'm sure he has been set for the Cup all along, so it won't surprise me if he can win today , another Cup for the Cummings family !
Almandin is the defending champion , up in weight but probably an even better stayer this year, again , this is the one race he has been set for, Lloyd is going for his 6th Cup !
Humidor is currently the second best horse in the country, and his breeding is screaming to me that he can stay the two miles being from the Northern Dancer/Galileo line out of a Zabeel mare and DK Weir is going for his second Cup in 3 Years and Humidor ain't 100-1!
If you put some money on all three horse on an each way bases (win and place) you should be a winner by 3.15pm !
Good luck.

And before that Fiorente ran 3rd in the Cox Plate and won the Cup for Gai Waterhouse 10 days later, the Cox Plate form is very reliable in recent years . BTW, win loss or draw, don't lose faith with the horse breeding pedigree, they really stand the test of times:
Winner of the Melbourne Cup today: Rekindling: is by High Chaparral, out of Sadlers Wells by Northern Dancer
The second horse: Johannes Vermeer: is also by Galileo, out of Sadlers Wells by Northern Dancer
and the third horse: Max Dynamite: is by Great Journey, out of Sunday Silence by Halo, and Sunday Silence is the grand sire of Delta Blues (Melbourne Cup) and Espoir City (Japan Cup) and Admire Rakti (Caulfield Cup). Max Dynamite is out of a Monsun mare and Monsun is already the most successful sire of three Melbourne Cup winners in Protectionist, Fiorente and Almandin.

Now if Honduras score in Sydney we in trouble as we need at least 2 or 3 goals.
The pitch in Honduras was a disgrace. It was a cow paddock.
Anyway on a proper pitch in Sydney we should be able to put 3 goals through them easily - they are a crap team.

Two sports: the Rugby World Cup and the Women's Ashes series.
Two matches: Tonga vs Samoa, the stadium was red, before the game , players from both teams locked in arms, formed in a big circle in the middle of the park, down on one knees praying together . Never seen anything on a footy field so pure and touching. Then the teams broke up, into their own formation for the war dance or their own version of harka as we know it then gave us a fast and exciting game , no one left anything on the field . After the match, instead of shaking hands, the players embraced one another like brothers and cousins ! That's is what this RLWC is all about !
Then we saw Tonga came back from 2-16 down at half time to beat the Kiwis 28-22! And the Stadium was also a sea of red in a NZ home game! They could now meet the Kangaroos in the final !
One Innings: Elyse Perry, 213 not out against England in the Ashes Test. And she took 3 wickets and 2 catches as well. What a player!

The Socceroos have dominated most games they've played in recent history. But, they can't convert this domination into goals. This is very frustrating and they really need to start and take their chances. I just hope that if they get an early goal, they still play their possession based style, and that they don't sit back and give Honduras any chances. Ryan needs to sharpen up too.⚽️

Ange Postecoglou has failed again.
He should never have been appointed and he should have been sacked ages ago.
it has been failure after failure under Ange.
Under his guidance we have struggled against Fourth World football nations like Thailand, Syria, and now Honduras - all of these nations are ranked well below Australia in FIFA rankings.
His claim to fame is we won the Asian Cup - big fucken deal.
The Asian Cup was on home soil which is a huge advantage.
We lost to South Korea in the group stage.
We only just managed to beat South Korea in the Final in extra time.
We got lucky that Japan were eliminated in the Quarter Finals and so didn't have to face them.
Who did we actually beat?; Kuwait, Oman, China and UAE - so fucking what,
We should have easily qualified for the World Cup but under Ange we have struggled.
We qualified for the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups under Hidink, Verbeek, and Osiek. under Ange we just managed to qualify.
Ange coached us to 3 losses in the 2014 World Cup - our worst record ever in a World Cup.
Ange is a failure and hopefully he will leave after this last game against Honduras.
Yes we qualified against Honduras, simply because we are far superior, not because of Ange's incompetent coaching ... a chimpanzee could have coached the Socceroos to qualification.
So what next?
Graeme, no fucking clue Arnold? No way!
We need to get an overseas coach.
There is no Australian coach good enough to coach Australia.
It will be at least another 30 years before we have an Australian coach fit for the job.
Australia is the only Third World football nation arrogant enough to think we can have a local coach.
Almost every Asian and African Country has a foreign coach.
Even a coach from the Serbian 3rd Division would be better than an Australian A league coach.
We need to start looking now and billionaire Frank Lowy needs to pull out the cheque book and start recruiting.
The best thing Australian football ever did was sack Frank Farina and appoint Gus Hiddink.
We need to do the same thing again.
Then we will have 7 months to start building a team with a structure and a purpose and a strategy under an overseas coach.'The only way Australia will ever have any success is with a foreign coach.

Hi there Rooter,
Feels better now ? You really let go of all your footy frustrations there I can see ........ lol.
I think the team we got over at Germany three World Cups ago was probably the best team we have ever assembled , full of quality players playing in better football leagues overseas :
Harry Kewell, Viduka, Cahill, Lucas Neill, Marco Bresciano etc. just don't think the current crop have the same depth and talents . And considering we had almost beaten Italy if not for a diving penalty right at the end and Italy went on to win the Cup that year, so still wondering what could have been? what if.......

Bro, the Mitchell brothers are very average players.
They are lucky to be playing against the weakest and most unmotivated English Test team to ever tour here.
Everyone is scoring centuries; even the very average Khawaja.
Comparing the Mitchell brothers to the Waughs and Chappells is ridiculous.
This is a very average Australian Test team.
The bowlers are very good; good pace attack and top spinner in Lyons.
But our batting line up is weak.
Smith is brilliant, and Warner is excellent, but all the rest are very average.
They will be exposed for the very average batting team they are when they tour South Africa.

In comparison, so much hyped and expectations on Britt Cox the night before who ended up in 4th place with another Aussie girl 5th. Not a bad result but nothing to show really. Did the media put too much spot light and pressure on these young athletes? Would they be better off to keep a low profile , is that the team management and coaches responsibility to protect and shield them better perhaps until after the event and then they can milk and enjoy the publicity and attention for all its worth ?

Well, I think the Cowboys should be two from two if the forward who ran into that JT pass didn’t hit the upright pad ! And the Storms clearly missing Cronk when they couldn’t close out the Tigers !
It is also worth mentioning the true sportsmanship displayed by Benji Marshall after he lead the West Tiger to beat the Storms in Melbourne and spoiled Billy Slater's 300th game milestone match. After the game, he gathered his teammates who were all celebrating from the far side of the field to come over and formed a guard of honour to clap Billy off the field. With this kind of leadership on the field, no wonder the Tigers are a very different team from previous years. And since they probably won't be affected by the Origin periods like the other top teams, and if their key players stay healthy, they could be a real Dark Horse in 2018 !

Most sport is fixed at times so not sure why you are surprised. They were just silly making it so obvious..
And your facts to support such a wide-sweeping generalisation? They didn’t deliberately make it obvious they wanted to cheat without being caught - they were too stupid to realise that cameras were everywhere at the ground.
This has tainted Australian cricket (if not all Australian sport) for many years. Anyone ever get “the underarm incident outrage” from a Kiwi? ... and that was legal - just not good sportsmanship. The only way to recover is to permanently sack all who were involved and rebuild both the team and a shattered reputation.

But the most surprised team has to be the Tigers, 4-1 to start the season and most importantly, beat the Melbourne Storm twice , are they that good or the Storms were so poor? Losing Cronk could be much bigger a deal than they would admit but the rest of the team just looked very un-Melbourne like. And the Broncos and Cowboys ! If only Ange is still our coach..we could possibly win one group match and draw one. Now our chance to ‘draw’ one match is pretty slim. The new coach has the reputation but not enough time to put a good squad together.
He got saudi arabia to the WC. Second half against Japan took off central defender and put a fast attacker. It worked in the end as the Japanese were stunned and didnt know what to do. Players need to adapt fast under this new coach. Won’t be surprised if he includes a lot of fast speedy guys in the squad.

Even sadder news is Salah probably won't recover in time for the FIFA World Cup to play for Egypt.
I was really looking forward to seeing him in that.

So the Vegas Knights, the NHL expansion team in their first year, just made it to the Stanley Cup final.....
Pretty amazing considering there are some teams who have gone 30 or so years without winning the Stanley Cup. Like my Oilers......even though they have McJesus.
They're made up of a bunch of players from the other NHL teams and apparently are pretty good. Everytime they score, almost everyone:-

You are not wrong there and thanks to the mighty Maroons winning the last 11 series in 12 years. This time of the year has been really good to my punting funds !
But this year is going to be really though !
How can you replace Champions such as Cronk, JT, Smith and now Slater!
But then again, when was the last time you can get $3.00 for the Queenslander ??
Still betting as usual and if the Maroons come up again, big big wins to collect ........ haha

No, the deal is 8UP ANYTIME in the duration of the game. At one point QLD lead 12-8. Had they had scored the next try they would have gone 16-8 (18-8 if converted) and I would have been paid out the winnings the next minute. I've had payouts like this in the past from them both with NRL and AFL.

No I placed live betting for Diego to break the next Rafa service game. At 4 or 3.8 odds it was good proposition.
In the 1st set Rafa was broken 3 times out of his 5 service games. And the other 2 was held to deuce.
So my strategy is for a particular Rafa service game, Diego breaks($50) or Rafa wins to deuce($15). Both around 4 odds.

I used to go mad but not anymore. Nowadays I wait for my match, may or may not work out. For e.g I wouldn't dare do this bet on Cilic vs Delpo. No breaks in their match yet, into the tiebreaker in 1st set. Both big servers and big hitters.
It was unfortunate for Diego that rain halted at the most inopportune moment after he went up a break in the 2nd set. His momentum is gone, Rafa has come back now.
Who would have predicted Cecchinato? Sigh he's never won a grand slam match before!

You can't. And throw Darren Lockyer in there too as he was a big part of Qld's ascendency.
Five once in a generation talents all playing together in the same era. No wonder Qld could hardly be beaten for 11 years. From my history reading it was the the same thing with the St George team of the 60s, who also had a group of once in a generation players. 11 straight premierships, (and one either side of that?). And 11 years is about the career length of a rugby league player, so there is the obvious answer.
The angst about nsw losing year after year never worried me. I just felt privileged to be able to watch that rare combination of a small group of champions playing for Qld together. Those five are going to be named immortals in the future, and nsw or qld supporters, we were all lucky to have the privilege of witnessing their unique combination.
You could see that their sheer footballing brains were missing from Qld last night. Those missing four in combination would have toyed with the nsw newbies. :D

Well summation GM,
It all started in 2006 when Lockyer scooped up that loose ball from Hodgson in the dying minute to win the decider , the rest , well, it’s Rugby League history .
But while The Maroons have all those once in a generation players, it was always very close and NSW could have won anywhere between 1 to 5 more series if not for 2 field goals from Cronk in 2012, 2015!
And three series we won by 2 points (all JT) in 2013, 2016 and game 2 last year !
So, rather than Qld winning 11 from 12 series, it could easily be 6 all or 7-5 either ways!
I think Maroons will make a few changes to recall Scott, Slater, Gillett and Glasby (if fit), and we have to find room for Ponga !
May be drop Chambers, move Gagai to the centre and Ponga on the wing. As with Billy returning for Full Back, Morgan will go to the bench.
Ps. If Billy is not 100%, Ponga straight to No 1.

So Queensland only scored 1 try on their own
They couldnt break NSW line because they lacked the matchwinners like Cronk and Smith and Thurston who can set up millions of tries
NSW need to win 10 years in a row however, before we can erase the pain of the last 12 years
Feel sorry for the previous NSW Coach Laurie Daley
Im sure if he hadnt been dumped, he could have been a victorious coach
But he had to be dropped, he was just too close to the players, and too many of them were on the drink and not focussed
No idea why Aaron Woods was kept in the team for so long.
Anyway Freddy Fittler can look like a guru coach now for the next 10 years, because Queenslands best days are behind them
Look forward to Mitchell and Ato Carr and Cook and Tedesco shredding the Queensland line in a few weeks in Sydney

Mate, I’m not a Pearce fans for obvious reasons but let’s be fair, he was up against some serious champions !
I’m pretty sure if Pearce was playing along side Maloney on a Wednesday night, the Blues would have won anyway . Same thing with Daley!
BTW, Daley and the Blues were so close last year, they were one JT goal away from winning the series last year .
So the bottom line is, forget about Daley or Freddy or Addo-Carr or Cook .

Who's your pick to lift the trophy? My gut feel is that Rafa is going to get knocked out by Delpo or Thiem. He looks jittery this year, not sure why. My money is on Thiem if he plays Rafa or Delpo if he gets through.
Halep vs Stephens is going to be interesting also. Halep should pull through but feels too close to put money on.

:) Hard to pick against Rafa though. I mean Delpo isn't the same after all those years of wrist surgeries. His backhand is much softer. Need to see how is he gonna handle Rafa's wicked forehands. Hard or Grass delpo has good chances but clay?
Thiem can rip it with his backhanders like a Stan. But Rafa meted out a hiding for both of them last year. Let's see.. hope they can make it tough for Rafa
I hope Halep wins. She really deserves it. She is the most consistent amongst the women (excluding Serena of course)

Yup. Either brave or dumb to bet against Nadal at RG but he can't win them all. I still think he looks vulnerable this year so maybe half a chance for someone else.
I'm rooting for Halep too. I think she is in a class of her own on clay when her game is on. She's blitzed through Mertens, Kerber and Muguruza and it would be a great shame if she falls in the final. Odds are pretty close tho ($1.4 vs $2.8) so not sure if I'll punt.

Very happy with Halep's win.
Rafa pummeled them both. Could have got a good payout from handicaps! Delpo by 11 games and Thiem by 9 games. Shame, I was a bit hesitant to bet.
Poor Thiem, it was a classic case of a single hander vs Rafa on clay. They can't ever beat him in RG. Roger's had enough after all those semis and finals.
In future, if Rafa was to lose a RG match it'll have to be from Novak or Sasha or any other two handers.

Have anyone see that goal from young Daniel ?? If he can score one like that in Russia, plus a Timmy Cahill header and perhaps a bit of a Mooy Magic, we might get to the next round .

Multis are the devil. Prefer to do singles and minimise risk. Agree all should win their opening game though, but would avoid France.
Other bet that appeals at odds is Lukaku top goal scorer at $17. Belgium will depend on him to score goals and in the early stages they should score plenty (their team total goals is Set at 8.5, 2nd only to Germany on 9.5). Belgium shold go deep too.

Just have to avoid getting thrashed by France in the first game.
We don't want a repeat of the 4-0 loss to Germany in the first game in 2010 World Cup which effectively ended our chances.
As long as we can get away with a 2-0 or 3-1 loss against France; then we if can guts out a 0-0 or 1-1 draw with Denmark, and then beat Peru 2-1, that could be enough to go through

But what I don’t understand was why our test spinner Gary was also sitting on the bench when England was playing their two full time spinners and took 5 wickets between them ?

I only watched the Aussie batted, went to sleep after they were all out for 200 and not much more on a 300+ pitch.
Maxwell was showing a bit of a fight back in the middle order, after he got out, there wasn’t much resistance in the tail .
Finch was doing well enough at the top before edging a loose ball off Ali’s first over and then bang bang Ali took out Marsh and the Captain and we never recovered !
And I don’t think the pace will be that effective England anyway. Broad and Anderson were never that fast but they bowl consistently on the length and line and have been very successful and effective for the host nation .
If only Smith were there and put a ton on the spinners !!

I was watching the match and realised in the 1st half how terrible the Saudis were. I put money for the number of corners to be less than 4 in the 2nd half (@ 2.7) and won! I knew Saudis won't trouble that count and would let a goal than a corner, lol!
