I have started various threads here and elsewhere in regards to Sports and occasionally added some eye candies in the forms of hot sporting babes and the collections of WAG's.
This past year has been big with sports and here are some high and low lights:
- Nick got dropped for the Davis Cup and Tomic is back in favour
- Serena Slam was derailed by the unseeded Vinci who subsequently was defeated by fellow Italian Pennetta who won her first ever grand slam title and retired from the sports immediately, talking about going out on a high !! And what a golden handshake for her retirement, the US Open cheque of USD$3.3 million !!
- Martina Hingis and the hot Indian babe Sania Mirza won the Ladies Double, after winning the Wimbledon a few months ago. Our Aussie Casey Dellacqua did well to reach the final.
- The dream final for men is currently underway. Federer vs Djokovic, Novak just up a break now leading 5-3 with Roger serving to stay in the first set..............., Roger holds serve. 5-4, Djokovic now serving for the first set ! 6-4. Novak gets the first set, it will be very tough for Roger from here on now !
- Steve Smith has an awesome summer and became the no.1 test batsman in the world and the next Cricket Captain.
- Australian men won the Cricket World Cup beating the co-host New Zealand
- Australian men lost the Ashes, Captain Clarke, Rogers, Watson, Haddin, Harris all retired !!
- Australian women won the Ashes
- Australian men won the ODI series, 3-2
- The Socceroos won the Asian Cup, The Matilda progressed into the second round of the women's World Cup. and now everybody are in pay disputes !!
- The Socceroos are on track for the World Cup qualifications.............
- The WEST have won in week one of the AFL and now the All Western Australia Grand Final looks very possible: even if Hawks and Swans can both win this week, they have to travel to Perth again and play Fremantle and Westcoast - looking very difficult now.
- Out of town teams are doing just as well in the NRL, both Broncos and Storms have won on week 1 and now get a week off, both teams are just one win away from a Grand Final rematch of 2006 !!
- The Jarryd Hayne story, the only story of the NFL pre-season, will we see the plane takes off tomorrow morning in the season opener, the coach is not committed but I think they will play him, why won't you?
- The passing of Bart, the Cup King is dead, RIP JB Cummings ! If James Cummings shall win the Cup this year, there will not be a dry eye in Flemington !
- Buddy Franklin is in trouble, mentally and physically, he is the highest profile AFL player, highest paid player across all football codes in Australia and has one of hottest babes - and yet his life is not perfect ! C'set la vie ?
- last but not least, I started this summary with Nick Kyrgios so it is only fitting that I end with him and the beautiful Eugenie Bouchard, someone just so bloody lucky, the way they were flirting on the courtside, you would imagine that Nick has scored, won't you.

I'm currently watching USOPEN final at work.. Federer had the chance to break in the 2nd game of the 2nd set, but blew it away (5 break points in a single game n couldn't convert).. Something different with him everytime he plays Djokovic in the major.. Same thing happened in Wimbledon.. Nerves??

You are watching !! good on you brother, I could only listen to the US radio.
Roger was up 5-4 in the second and has a bags of break points on Novak's serve, that game went to 7 dues and Novak eventually won on the 22nd point 5-5 second set !!
Roger holds, 6-5, here we go again !!

Yep.. Novak is the worthy champion.. For some reason, Federer doesn't play the same tennis when he plays Novak and everyone else.. He crushes Murray easily, finishes Wawrinka in three quick sets in their recent clash, but with Novak.. It's like he's doubting himself.. Like I said, I saw the same thing happened in Wimbledon (watched that one as well).. Same scenario actually.. Novak won the first set tie break, Federer got the second set (tie break as well), but then Novak won 3-1..
Some may wonder if Federer would ever win another major.. It doesn't matter to me, cos he's still my favourite player.. As for The Djoker, well done!!! I hate to say it, but he played better.. He's probably made for the big stage...

Now US Open is finished, we might have all eyes on the footy finals now.. I myself am supporting The Roosters to win the whole thing, but they didn't play as well as usual when they lost against Melbourne.. This Friday they're playing Bulldogs, who needed a golden point to win against Dragons... I reckon it's an easy win.. Meanwhile, Cowboys would beat Cronulla in the other game by some margin...
Just my 2 cents..
P.S : Anyone follow baseball at all??

Thanks buddy, that was a typo ! I was switching between posting and the US Open scores !! it's fixed now!
Talking about the Wallabies, yes, they did win something but the graveyard at Eden Park continued - in a crushing defeat no less. Now, how did we ended up in the group of death at the Rugby World Cup with the two co-hosts ?? and Fiji - who can play too !! And how easy is Group B and C for South Africa and the All Blacks, they are almost guaranteed to top the group !!

Yeap, the finals of both AFL and NRL. And Sydney and Melbourne could be the biggest losers here !!
West Coast Eagles vs Fremantle at the MCG. Not good for the game I suppose but great for the Melbourne economy !!
Same thing for the NRL, just like 2006 when Brisbane Broncos played Melbourne Storms, Sydney economy can use a boost for sure, all the hotels, airlines will be laughing.

Meanwhile, Cowboys would beat Cronulla in the other game by some margin..
Here are the for and against attack and defence records for this year:
Easts 591 / 300
Brisbane 574 / 379
Nth Qld 587 / 454
The Melbourne Identity 467 / 348
Cronulla 469 / 476
This means that Easts, Brisbane and the Melbourne Identity have scored around 20 more converted tries this season than Cronulla has.
So this shows that Cronulla has significantly less creativity in attack, most of their tries must came from kicks and it shows they cannot handle a defence of the calibre of Easts (300 against) and Brisbane (379 against.) I for one am not entertained by Cronulla's attack looking like waves splashing against Sydney Heads.
I am sick of supporting a team that has never had any real creativity in attack. To win against the teams above them they always have to play above themselves. Too bad Todd Carney imploded. He was the kind of creative half like Thurston Cronulla needs.
Mind you, Innes does very nice work close to the line.
Anyway, by being pessimistic now I reduce my disappointment when they lose! :miao:

Lol, A Shark fan I see.. They are not that bad to watch actually.. But I agree with you.. Watching them playing the last 2 games (vs Manly n South), this team doesn't have a lot of varieties in their attack.. Against Manly, they couldn't win to secure their place in the top 4... Playing South, they never looked comfortable until the third try.. I don't think they can handle Cowboys, who defends well and offends superbly... Best of luck anyway..

From domestic, of course we'll get sucked into the finals of NRL and/or AFL (I don't follow AFL at all but I know it's pretty big here).. I reckon Cowboys and Roosters will get the job done and set blockbuster semifinals : Roosters Vs Broncos, Cowboys Vs Storms..
From international section, we have Davis Cup coming up.. Can the Aussie young guns handle Andy Murray and his GB team?? I surely hope so.. Last time I heard, Tomic is back into squad and Kyrgios is out.. That's not really a bad thing considering the recent events that's been happening..
Soccer is always busy with the European League going.. Chelsea playing Arsenal will be an interesting match to watch...

Yeap, the top 4 teams to go through to the Prelim :
Rooters and Cowboys to win, Hawks and Swans get through as well.
And whatever happens, there will be NO footy in both Sydney and Melbourne next weekend. Correction, that's No AFL in Melbourne but Melbourne Storms will be hosting the Cowboys/Sharks. Broncos at SunCorp and double header again over at Perth.
If all goes to plan:
The AFL Grand Final will be between West Coast Eagles and the Hawks.
And the NRL Grand Final will be Broncos and Storms (a Queensland Derby basically..............hahha)!

Will be hard to beat England at home and Wales in what is almost a home game too (lucky it's not in Cardiff).
We probably have to win at least one of those games to go through to the QFs, and some bonus points against the weaker teams will be handy too.
Why do Aussie teams always cop the "group of death" in every sport???

Pocock scored twice in the first half both off two rolling mauls, one on one right and one on the left, powerful stuff! I went to sleep at half time thinking a 20-30 points win to be had and the final score line this morning of 28-13 was a bit disappointing to be honest !

We've always struggled in the scrums against northern hemisphere sides; the wallabies have this perception of being soft at the contact, and I feel there's a real psychological edge over us in that department. When have we had a truly dominant front row in the last 10 years?
We've always opted for faster, mobile front rowers to be quick off the breakdown and sustain pressure going forward, but often at the cost of being outmuscled in the scrummaging. Only the Boks and the All-blacks seem to have managed to balance those two needs well. Hard to say how we'll do against England to be honest!

The Wallabies and England are both $7.50 on second line !
Good value for the Aussies ?
I wonder if the local crowd would support the Aussies if it shall be a Trans Tasman Final !

I would imagine the former British colonies and countries in the Commonwealth will have advantages over countries such as France, Argentina or Italy !

We can once and for all erase the Johnny Wilkinson drop goal nightmare at the 2003 World Cup by eliminating the host country England in this match !

Or if we lose this one, we could be coming home even if we beat Wales , as I think we are one bonus point short !

It's up to the Wallabies whether they will exit at the groups stage/lost to England, finishing second in the group , beating either Wales or England or on top of the group by beating both the co hosts !
If we can go to the top of the group we will Not face any of the All Blacks or Ireland or Springboks until the semi, otherwise , very tough road ahead !

NRL Grand Final is just around the corner (so is AFL, but I don't follow them.. Lol..)
Who do you guys think is gonna come out victorious?? The Broncos or Cowboys? I personally pick Broncos, because one think I've learnt in my first year following NRL, defense is the best offense... And Broncos have proved themselves they're the best in the business...
However, in my workplace, a lot of my customers are going with Cowboys (I work in a coffee shop)..
Nevertheless, it will be a hell of a game. If their last meeting indicated anything, this 80 minutes game will be a non-stop action.. May the best team win!!

From memory, this is the one NRL Grand Final that's is most evenly matched ! And thanks heaven for my earlier double bets on Broncos / Hawks, Broncos / West Coast, Cowboys / Hawks and Cowboys / West Coast, it really won't matter who wins today and on Sunday !
Personally I like to see Broncos and Hawks win! But any one of the four outcomes won't surprise me and win give me a nice 4 figures win and plenty of RnT sessions that's for sure !
May be a Sam Mitchell and Ben Hunt double will really put the icing on the cake !
But I will be cheering for JT and Josh Kennedy too, talking about sitting on the fence stuff !
Two cracking games that's for sure !

The All Blacks beat South Africa 20-18, scoring 2 tries to nil.
The Wallabies beat Argentina 29-15, scoring 4 tries to nil.
Both Finalist had managed to keep their try line intact in the Semi Finals, on paper, the Wallabies had a more impressive score line but for about 20 min in the second, the Puma was looking quite dangerous to level the score. A break from Drew Mitchell from the left edge and great run through the field to find Adam Ashley-Cooper on the right and the hat-trick hero just put the icing on the cake.
You would hope the semi between the All Blacks and the Springboks in the wet conditions would have taken a lot more out of the team then the Wallaby game last night, I think the defense of the Wallabies in this World Cup has improved a lot and the team is full of confidence, Popcock is now the equal of McKaw, If we ever gonna beat the All Blacks in a final, this is as good a chance as ever !!

Good to see Hazelwood steps up in the absence of Johnson and then Starc and took 9 wickets in the match - 6 in the second inning which won us the match basically !
Also great that Peter Neville has now come out of the shadow of Haddin and did a Haddin style rescue with the bat for 66 which top scores for both teams in two innings when the Aussie was in deep trouble, and took 7 catches !
Lyon got a second life he didn't deserved and made the Kiwi pays with 34!
And my personal favourite moment was when Starc came out to bat after his injury and put 2 Sixes and 3 Fours, 24 off 15 balls and got to the lead !
I was waiting in great anticipation when he came out last night as no 8 and hoping he hit a big 4 or 6 to win the match but Siddle stole it !

Although my money was on Adam Scott $7.00 and Spieth $2.88 and at one stage both were co-leaders for the first time this tournament and big chance for a winning Sunday afternoon !
But you got to admire the mental toughness of Matt, he has a horror front nine, bogey , double bogey, in the water for a triple ! Most players would have faded away especially when you are playing with the world no 1.
I think that hole when he had a wayward shot into the woods , hit the tree then into the sand but chipped in to save par was the turning point and won him the title , if he would have dropped one more, I don't think he could still come back !

But the high light of the match - with an unfortunate error from the umpire - a poor decision in the context of modern technology; Adam Voges reprieved on 7. He made 239. And now has a Test average of 97!
Our openers will now need to make some runs ! Or perhaps they should let Khawaja and Warner open !

Just half watching the Golf Australian Women's Open.
The total domination by Asian girls and girls of Asian background is extraordinary! Karrie Webb is the only non- Asian.
I checked the official world rankings and 8 out of the Top 10 are Asian or Asian background. Very impressive.
A few babes out there too. I should take up golf ;)
Danielle Kang is probably the sexiest - very petite, delicate and graceful and quite pretty.
By I'd love to do Na Na Jang. That girl must love her bibimbap.
She's a raw, earthy, powerfully built little chubster - all tits, and arse and powerful thighs - she'd fuck you to death.
ABC Minjee Lee is pretty hot too - and only 19yo.
I would birdie, eagle or albatross Minjee's minge any day of the week ;)

Well done to Nick !
I suppose when he is winning ! All is forgiven ??
His attitude is still way behind his talent.
We all love athletes who are immensely talented but still humble and nice guys/girls eg Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, Pat Rafter, Cathy Freeman, Sally Pearson.
And we love to hate athletes who are immensely talented but total arrogant arseholes eg. Christiano Ronaldo, Mohammed Ali, John McEnroe, Serena Williams - we pay good money to see them lose ... but at the end of the day we respect them.
But then you get a clown like Nick Kygios who has some talent but way too fucking arrogant and you just have no respect for him.
He either needs to develop some humility or some talent ... and I don't think he is capable of either ... but I really do hope I am proven wrong ... we desperately need a new Aussie tennis hero.

And he must face Stan Wawrinka in the final, that will be some match and his defining moment considering their past incident on court. Would Kyrgios keep his mouth shut and let his racket do the talking ?

Congratulations to the Aussie Cricket Team levelling the T20 series 1-1 in South Africa last night.
SA was sent in to bat first and set a big target of 205 for the Aussie to chase.
No Khawaja this time and Warner was batting at 4 and Maxwell at 5, they came together when we were in big trouble early, 3/32 after 5.4 overs.
Then David and Maxie put in a world record partnership of 161 !!, Warner 77, Maxwell 75 (his personal best for T-20).
when Warner fell at 5/194 at the 19.1 over, Australia needed 11 runs from 5 balls !
There must be a no ball some where as Faulkner had only faced 4 balls for 7 in the score card (but on the commentary he was: 2,2,0,2,2,1!) and Marsh 1 ball for 2 for the winning run ??
Anyway, a last ball victory when both teams had scored 200+, why wasn't this game shown on free TV ??

She has been on Meldonium for 10 years now.
To be fair it was only banned on Jan 1st 2016 so she took it legally for all those years.
It does have legitimate uses for cardiac issues but is also a performance enhancer.
I must say I have never liked her and her constant screaming is so annoying I can never watch her playing even if she is playing a gainst a player I like.
So if she gets banned for a long time or for life I personally won't miss her.
I would have banned her years ago for her non-stop fucking screaming!
But the tennis authorities let her get away with it because she is so glamorous and marketable and that has encouraged every young woman player to scream too now.
She has ruined the women's game.

I want to dislike Maria cos of the shrieking but she's still so fucking good. And gorgeous. Poor girl, let down by her team medics, who should be looking out for this stuff. How the fuck are they expected to keep track of all the names for a certain drug? Her name is pretty much still in the clear, it's a legal substance for past decade - she was upfront about it all.

McGroggy on the other hand, got massive payout of 1M for his lost to Diaz (500k).

I suppose if she has been taking the same medicine in the past 10 years when it was totally legal and then in the last couple of months it was added onto the banned list, it's an error of judgement or genuinely overlooked rather than cheating the system systemically !!
I suppose if there was really a performance enhancing drug that she could have taken , Maria would have at least beaten Serena a few times rather than losing to her how many matches in a row now ??

A bloke takes steroids and it shrivels up his balls, a woman takes steroids and it gives her a big clit ;)

I was actually with the England team, I had a bet on Joe Root Top Scores (which he did !) and England to win @$6.50 - and when Root was handed the ball on the second over, I was like, are you serious ?? and then he took a wicket on his first ball, then Gayle hit him for 4 and was caught the very next ball, I was like, WOW, Root is gonna to get England home with bat and ball. And then Willey got Simmons at 3-11, I thought, wow, West Indies collapse on its way.
Then Samuel and Bravo just steadied the ship!
When they need 19 runs from the final over, I still thought, OK, no bloody way the West Indies could get this and my $130 was still a sure win, then Bang, Bang, Bang and Bang and it was all over, I'm sad that I lost my $20 ! but I am happy to pay $20 any time to watch something like this LIVE ! any time !

Was very interested to see how the NZ Warriors would perform against the Storms last night but the Kiwis got smashed off the AAMI Park 42 - 0 !! so they looked a bit sad and sorry.
But it will be a vast different looking team when the likes of: Foran, Bromwich, Harris, Blair etc got added into the Kiwi's line up. they had won the last few, looks like is our turn this time.

And I won't be surprised if on match day, that big Mal will have a reshuffle of the backlines: Dugan for full back, keeping Boyd and Inglis the Queensland left side combination, Semi on the other wind and Michael Jennings on his inside. Yes, one of the greatest boxer/sportsman of all times !
Even our own Bruce Lee had proudly admitted that he studied Ali's dance steps inside the ring and adapted some of it as his own, very evident when we saw the final fight scene in the movie Vs Chuck Norris !
When asked who will win if Bruce should fight Ali in the ring, he laughed and said Ali will kill me . So the respects for Ali is quite universal .
R. I. P. Ali, you are a true Champion .

Off topic ! But what Bruce Lee meant was if the fight happened in the ring, with the boxing rules, sure Ali would win, but if it happened in the street fight, with no rules, then it's a different story ! Nevertheless, it's just a hyperthetical question and answer, can't take it too seriously ! ;) ;) ;)

Yes, of course, it's all hypothetical. and I believe those interview with Bruce Lee was at the height of his popularity and he was probably being regarded as the best fighter in the world and hence the comparison. And yet without any hesitation he just said Ali will kill him so just showing his respects for the great man.
Personally, I would think that if you put Ali and Bruce in a boxing ring with rules and gloves, Ali will win in the first round probably by KO, but if you put them in the UFC cage and no rules ! then the result could be different. So yes, I agree with you on this one. Again.............haha !!:cool::o

Well, at 9/189 with South Africa batting first, you would think we got this, surely we can get 4 runs per over, right ?
But then when Warner gone for 1, Khawaja gone for 2, Captain Smith gone for 8 and Maxwell 2, Marsh 8 and Wade 2 !! It's looking very ugly !!
Even when Finch digged in for a match high 72 off 103 balls, the wickets kept falling on the other side - until guess who? Nathan Lyon put up some fight for 30 off 31 balls, but when Finchy was gone, so was Game 1 !!

Iceland eliminated England from Euro 2016
But France has a chance to celebrate after the terrorist attack but C Ronaldo stands in the way.
With Novak out, I was hoping Federer can add one more Wimbledon before his retirement but he couldn't get past Raonic in the semi and broke his own 10 out of 10 successful Wimbledon semi finals records, until this morning , 10 times previously when Federer reached the Wimbledon semifinals , he went on to reach the final .
Last time when Andy Murray won his first Wimbledon - Lendl was his coach! Then they splitted and Andy hooked up with one Amelie and he wasn't the same player. Now they have splitted and Lendl back in since June , and guess what, Andy is in the Wimbledon final again ! It makes you wonder ?

Ok, Serena is great , no question about it!
She just equalled Stefi Graf's record of 22 Grand Slams wins !
But during Graf's earlier to middle years, she was losing regularly to one Monica Selles , as a result, one crazy fan stapped Selles with a knife and Selles was never the same players again !
I wonder , if Selles wasn't attacked ..........
Ps. For the records , Seles won the Australian Opens 3 years in a row, French three years in a row, US Open two years in a row and in between , lost a Wimbledon to Graf , she won three of the four Grand Slams two years in a row, she was extremely dominat !!

For all you Sharky fans out there, I think the Sharks is a real title contender this year, especially after the Sunday match when they beat the Panthers comfortably without 4 stars on Origin duties . Ben Barba is back to his brilliant Dally M winning form and this Sharks side has already beaten all the fellow top four teams this season in Storms, Cowboys, Broncos and Dogs.
They should win the minor premiership and make the Grand Final.
The only question is, can they beat teams like the Storms or Cowboys in the decider ? Or have they peaked too early ?

That was quite an exciting game last night, edge of the seat stuff all the way on a very cold night.
I thought I had 4 winning tickets to collect (5 X RnT sessions secured!) when Darius Boyd scored with 5 min left, Then Tedesco broke free and nearly scored and then Jennings did a Queensland to us and broke my bank !
Three tries each, one sin bin each , Thurston's two conversion misses was the difference even when his second miss hit all three poles but no point for that, NSW got the 12-3 penalty counts and How the hell did Jenning's off side and within 5 metres of the play not get pulled up? Please explain !
But that's Origin, until next year, all these NSW young players will be better for the run and the whole Maroons side will be that year oldEE, scary thoughts !!
Until next year.

This Grand Final weekend between the AFL and NRL is very fascinating:
4 teams left in the running, two teams from Melbourne and two teams from Sydney.
Sydney Swan is the minor premier of the AFL this season, going into it's third Grand Final in 5 years, 14 of the players on Saturday were in that 2014 losing team to the Hawks and they have waited two long years to seek redemption. Can they ? Apart from losing to the GWS in week one - which might be just the wake up calls they need, and if they can win on Saturday, they may have to thank the GWS to give them a kick up the back side ! The Swans was absolutely dominant vs the Crows and the Cats, those two final matches were probably won in the first quarter respectively. If the same Swans turn up on Saturday, they will win by 40+ and a good thing.
Bulldogs fans had waited long enough for their team to reach the GF again, and after they beat the Eagles in Perth, Hawks at the MCG and the GWS in Sydney, who is to say they can't do it again and have a fairy tale finish. Melbourne West would love to see the Dogs come up but can they win 4 sudden death "Grand Finals" in a row ? Probably not ! Unless the Swans collectively have a shocker, which is highly unlikely.
Speaking about fairy tales, I think the Sharks have a better chance in winning their first ever Premiership than the Dogs. They have, after all, finished the season in the third position and very luckily have no injury and can field a full roster on Sunday. and they can also match the Storms across the park, so I am very concerned that they might get up (I am going for the Storms obviously!) . And I have a feeling that if the Sharks do win, they will win big - like a 2-3 tries lead so that the Storms can not run them down. On the other hand, if the Storms get in front or if the game is in the balance 10 min to go, the Storms would probably get home with the very experienced Cam Smith and Cronk leading them to another Premiership. Last time the Storms get beaten in a Grand Final, Cam Smith was suspended !
With four teams left, will it be an all Sydney or all Melbourne finish ?
The bookies say Swans and Storms - so a Sydney team winning in Melbourne and a Melbourne team winning in Sydney !! And both are minor premiers in their respective code, so why not ?
or will it be a fairy tales weekend with the Dogs and Sharks both winning and create history ?

Yes, it will be an excellent weekend of sport, if the Swans and Storm win, I will collect a decent Premiership Double that I put on a while ago. I think it will be intense with genuine dislike between Cameron Smith and Paul Gallen. It is basically State of Origin. I don't care about the Sharks, especially with their recent history with drugs and I can't stand Fifita, I don't want to see him celebrate. Sharks could choke big time. Go Storm!!
In the AFL, I think it is a toss up, and as you alluded to Ahlungor, I hope the Swans don't forget the pain of when the Hawks beat them. The Bulldogs look bulletproof, like a really good team, they are comfortable leading or coming from behind. Hopefully Buddy will fire, he should be up for it!!!

The result was never in doubt from weeks and weeks ago. We were always destined to win it.
