The subs made the difference for France. Girroud was able to draw defenders giving Pogba a bit of space. Smart tactical move by the coach. I wish we had Timmy on the park!! We had several free kicks...and only Timmy can finish them.

England bats men set a new world record in ODI last night destroying the Aussie B team for 6/481 - we were all out for less than half of that and wasted 13 overs !

I can understand no Smith and Warner. But where the bloody hell were Starc? Cummings and Hazelwood? And why is our no 1 Test Spinner Nathan Lyon sitting on the bench when the two England spinners took 7 wickets between them .

One more question, on the second game we won the toss and sent England in to bat and they put 300+ on us. Why did we choose to bowl again ??

I actually had the exact same multi in game I when the three wingers all scored except it was only one bet and I had it for over 35.5 points and the game ended in 22-12 = 34 points . For the last 10 min I was just hoping for ANY points ! Even a Blues penalty would have delivered a big win for me! So I learnt my lesson , having it both ways tonight !

After losing the ODI’s 4-0, the Aussie boys had a chance to salvage some pride and badly need confidence and momentum going to the T20 and bloody let it slip and gave England the pleasure of a 5-0 white wash !!

While only setting a modest target of 205! The blowers finally had a good start and pushed the Poms to 6-86 with seemingly only Jos Buttler the only remaining obstacle for an unlikely win ! Only for Buttler to stand tall at the end with a 110 no and single handedly won the final ODI by 1 wicket !

And England also won 6-1 in the World Cup too !! Now safely into the next around and in hot form !

I think 24 million Aussies reckon Timmy should play.
It's just a matter of convincing 1 Dutchman ;)
Van Marwijk has done a great job so far.
We are much more structured, disciplined and tight in defence and midfield now..
Under that clown Postecoglou we were a loose mess.
We've avoided a thrashing from the French and got a draw against Denmark.
My only criticism of van Marwijk is that he should have brought Timmy on in the second half especially against Denmark.
Anyway he took a cautious approach and we live to fight another day.
Our problem still remains that we can't score! It was the same story under Postecoglou.
4 of our last 5 goals have been from penalties (lucky Jedinak never misses. He has a 100% record from the penalty spot and that's even better than Ronaldo!)
Anyway tonight we have to really go for it!
Realistically we will need at least 2 goals to win because Peru are bound to score at least once.
Let's see if the Dutchman has another string to his bow and can get us to play attacking football too and someone steps up to score; Juric, Rogic, Arzani, Leckie, McLaren or of course TIMMY!!!!

I think Bert has done a stellar job and that he hasn't put a foot wrong yet. Cahill deserves some game time, but only as a sub. In the last 6 months, he has been on the pitch for a total of 60min. His skill set is very limited too, he is only good in the air, not so much with the ball at his feet. Defensively he is suspect and can't pressure the goalie or defenders when they have the ball and looking to distribute. We need to press them and force them to make poor decisions.

With Nabout injured, the starting squad will be very interesting to see. Hopefully Arzani starts.

The team spirit was very strong with the Socceroos and it looks like Bert (who they obviously respond to) has quickly adapted to the Australian attitude. (Quicker than Pim Verbeek). I don't want to see this eroded so some individual can chase personal glory.

Their speed on the outside and then centering the ball was spot on against the Danes, just lacking someone with the practiced skills to then nod / volley it into the net. If Cahill is good at this, get the **** on the pitch.

During Billy Slater's year off with his shoulder I read he spent the time with a sprint coach, and subsequently he has been clocked as faster than he was ten years ago. That is why he looks so sharp even at 35 every time he gets the ball.

Maybe Cahill is running on old legs and hasn't put the sprint training in to compensate for it, and the coach knows this.

They have still not played a top 10 ranked team.
In fact the first top 10 team they will face will be in the Final (ie Belgium or France)
Group stage they played Tunisia and Panama who both rubbish teams.
Then played Belgium but it was a dead rubber.
They lost that game probably deliberately and were rewarded for their loss by landing in the easy half of the tournament thus avoiding all the top teams.
Then they played Colombia who are a very undisciplined team and their top forward Jaime Rodriguez didn’t play due to injury.
Even then they only managed to win because of a dubious penalty on Kane and only after extra time and penalty shoot out.
Then they played Sweden a very average team who basically just defend and have no quality forwards.

I will be honest, Croatia played very well...however i knew once france survived their onslaught they will win in 2nd half. Win is win... I was at one of my clinets house. The value bets at the NRL these days are definitely with the same game multi, but you would need a high scoring game and if some of the forwards scoring tries, the maximum odds could get up the $2,501 to one !

But you are right, Final footy tend to be low scoring, those two semi were both decided by 1 point and if you would have predicted that, you win 676 to 1.

I had an each way on D'argento in the same race so basically just got my money back and a bit.
But I backed Santa Ana Lane in the 5th at $10 so it was a good day overall.
And I had the Eagles by a 1-20 point margin in the AFL Grand Final. They really made me sweat on that one, but they came through with the last goal of the day; and a miracle goal from the boundary line at that.

It's Caulfield Cup time, I don't think we will have anther 50-1 chance like Boom Time last year, the two local favourites of Kings Will Dream and Youngstar from the two dominant big stables of DK Weir and Chris Waller respectively, could well have the race between them. Until that import Yucatan trashed the field in the Herbert Power easing down that I realised the overseas horses are here to win. and then in typical Lloyd Williams fashion, Yucatan is not running in Caulfield to avoid further penalty, so we are back to square one.

So while I might still take the 14 and 18 and the field for my trifecta, and then the field to come first and second, my tips for the Cup would involve 8 horses, half local and half overseas and hopefully can still get some value in it.

If money is no object and you have won some money before from my tips, then you should just box the 8 horse in the trifecta @$336.00 for a 1 unit or $168.00 for 1/2 unit.

If you are a fans of the Lindsay Park racing then you should definitely put something each way on the Storm.

Taj Mahal draws the car park but has no weight, James Macdonald is a big plus.

If you go through every runner in the Cup, very hard to rule many of them out .

If you take 2, 14, 18 as rolling bankers for your trifecta , meaning these three must run two platings and then you field the 1st, 2nd or 3 horses.

It's Caulfield Cup time, I don't think we will have anther 50-1 chance like Boom Time last year, the two local favourites of Kings Will Dream and Youngstar from the two dominant big stables of DK Weir and Chris Waller respectively, could well have the race between them. Until that import Yucatan trashed the field in the Herbert Power easing down that I realised the overseas horses are here to win. and then in typical Lloyd Williams fashion, Yucatan is not running in Caulfield to avoid further penalty, so we are back to square one.

So while I might still take the 14 and 18 and the field for my trifecta, and then the field to come first and second, my tips for the Cup would involve 8 horses, half local and half overseas and hopefully can still get some value in it.

If money is no object and you have won some money before from my tips, then you should just box the 8 horse in the trifecta @$336.00 for a 1 unit or $168.00 for 1/2 unit.

A full unit on the First 4 will cost $1,680 or $168 for 10%

1. Best Solution, 16-1 (won back to back group 1 in Germany over 2,400)

2. The Cliffsofmoher, 7-1 (Aidan O'Brien, L Williams and H Bowman!)

6. Ace High, 12-1 (VRC Derby winner and second in the AJC, won the Hill Stakes by 2L with 58, drop 3 kg and has Oliver)

7. The Taj Mahal, 19-1 (Hit form at the right time, Williams and J Mac)

13. Homesman, 13-1 (3rd of the Williams horse, won group 1 Underwood here and drops 6kg)

14. Kings Will Dream, 5-1 F (won the Mornington Cup 2400 by 5 length, current WFA form good, less than 2 length behind Winx in Turnbull and drops 3.5kg)

17. Night Watch, 21-1 (like to include an outsider, might as well from the Weir and he likes Caulfield, bad draw but light weight, any rain he will be right in this)

18. Youngstar, 6-1 (nearly caused a boil over with Winx at the Turnbull, that's the best local form line and you won't have a more in form jockey in Mcevoy who just conquered the Everest - Twice !)

Well, she certainly has done it , brought some tears to my eyes too, but who is to say Winx is better than the Diva who won 3 Cups in a row under handicap conditions , especially the third Cup when she carried the top weight !

This year's Melbourne Cup, as usual, are dominated by so many overseas runners, it will be quite hard for the locally trained horse even run into the minor placings, Won't be surprised to see another repeat of the Caulfield Cup result where the first 4 horses were all trained overseas!

If you take a look at the current TAB odds, you will see most of the top fancy runners are all European horses, and we might as well just hand it over to 1, 3, 5 & 11 and make $150 for the Cup Trifecta !

It would well be the case but we punters can't just bet on the favouirtes only, so I am going to include five of the overseas raiders and add 3 of the best locals ...............lol, and the fact is, two of my locals were in fact also imports !

So, please gamble responsibly:

1. Best Solution $12.00 won the Caulfield Cup and got no penalty may be Greg Carpenter was telling us something, but you can never leave out the Caulfield Cup winner can you?

I think by the time the Cup runs at 3pm, it could well be a bottomless track ! I wish it was like Diva’s second Cup where both the Champ and Vinnie Roe were good in the heavy going , that was one of my easier Cup trifecta , the top 2 and the field !

Yeap, won on the Queen as well, William Pike was the regular rider on both stable mates and he picked the Queen which is good enough for me, very short though but win like a good thing!
